A calm home with Candlemakers House

Hi, my name is Amy and I'm the one that makes your candles and everything you'll find at Candlemakers House. To say "I love making things" doesn't quite tell the whole story, so let me fill you in.

Back in 2018 busy family life, commuting, and work sucked the joy out of life. Whether it was our disorganised cluttered home that made us frantic, or our constant rushing that meant our home was an afterthought, I don't know, but it wasn't working.

A friend's illness spurred me to experiment. What if our house could actually contribute to our family's wellbeing? 

I'd always loved sewing, painting etc. but I didn't imagine anyone else actually wanting the things I'd made. But it turns out that when something is made to last, in a timeless style, with intention, and using sustainable resources, all that love seeps into it and it actually does make you feel better.

You don't chose the poor quality plastic version, you chose the tactile warm version from Candlemakers House which does more than one thing, and lasts forever. 

Now I make everything you'll find at Candlemakers House to be beautiful and useful with timeless style and a calming pallet inspired by nature and heritage design. 

Crafted in Dunstable, Bedfordshire

Based in Dunstable in Bedfordshire, we draw on inspiration from the northern Chilterns for our collections. Beautiful green spaces and the innovation and craft in the region fill us with hope and appreciation. Everything here, from our candles to our homewares, is made by us so you can't find it anywhere else. Candlemakers House is a celebration of craft, put to work, so that it is useful and beautiful.

Building your home from our house

We're building Candlemakers House so that we have everything you need. Of course, over time we'll come to stock every type, size, scent and colour candle you could hope to find...but we'll also be exploring textiles, decorative accessories, and functional homeware.

Gifting the Candlemakers House experience

The art of gifting is to find something that your friend or loved one will enjoy, but may not buy themselves. It should be useful and beautiful, and it should be wonderfully wrapped. Most gifts are a celebration of love or joy...or both, and we love that!

At Candlemakers House everything can be gifted, from our exquisite scented candles to our thoughtful homeware. We'll combined some of our favourite items into gift boxes for special occasions, but gift wrap and hand written notes are available on all orders so you can gift any item.

We make the gifting experience even better with our luxury packaging. Thick paper wrapped boxes, gold foil details, embossed emblems, satin ribbon, and handwritten note cards are just some of the luxury details you can expect as standard when you unbox Candlemakers House.
