Hi I'm Amy and I'm the one that makes your candles and everything else that you'll fine at Candlemakers House. I thought I'd quickly introduce myself and tell you a bit about why I started Candlemakers House.
To say "I love making things" doesn't quite tell the whole story, so let me fill you in.
Back in 2018 busy family life, commuting, and work sucked the joy out of life. Whether it was our disorganised cluttered home that made us frantic, or our constant rushing that meant our home was an afterthought, I don't know, but it wasn't working.
A friend's illness spurred me to experiment. What if our house could actually contribute to our family's wellbeing? I'd always loved sewing, painting etc. but I didn't imagine anyone else actually wanting the things I'd made.
But it turns out that when something is made in a timeless style, with intention, and using sustainable resources, all that love seeps into it and it actually does make you feel better. You don't chose the poor quality plastic version, you chose the tactile warm version from Candlemakers House which does more than one thing, and lasts forever.
Now I make everything you'll find at Candlemakers House to be beautiful and useful with timeless style and a calming pallet inspired by nature and heritage design.
